The Bellevue Hotel first opened its Paddington doors in 1884. This was a year when rifle shooting was a favourite Australian sport, with many a young man coming to the Bellevue after a stint on the Paddington Range. 100 years later the Bellevue got its first major overhaul making it one of the first female friendly hotels in Sydney. It was also one of the first to embrace excellent pub dining. The most recent Bellevue renovation and change of ownership continues these traditions within an atmosphere designed for comfort, relaxation, a bit of fun and of course great pub dining.

Downstairs Bar

Our laid-back front bar is the ideal destination for anything from a quiet after work drink to a lively get together. Somewhere between an old English pub and colonial outpost, the Main Bar is opulent, rich and decidedly comfortable, with some great moments of whimsy to watch out for. Mind, you it’s not stuffy and if there’s a major sporting event on, you’ll find our big screen TV tuned right in.

Drop in for happy hour – from 5.30pm to 6.30pm Monday to Friday. There is an extensive range of draught beers ranging from our local beer, Reschs through to Peroni, available on tap in all bars.

Fancy a trip to the races but would prefer to stay in Paddington? The Back Bar is just the spot for an afternoon flutter, with a cold beer and our famous house made sausages and mash.

We offer SKY TV and TVN on widescreen as well as full Pub TAB facilities. TAB Racing and TAB Sports bet wall sheets are posted daily and our TABTEXT service provides approximate dividends information on screen. Grab yourself a table or a spot in the lounge and you and your friends are set for the day.

A takeaway bottle shop service is also available over the bar.

Upstairs Bar

Think New York Yacht Club meets Cigar Bar, or simply picture oversized pictures, sumptuous chesterfield sofas, tartan carpet and loads of character. Now couple that with a refined, relaxing ambiance. This exclusive area, with its own bar, is completed with anoutdoor terrace and two private function rooms; the Dining Room and the Whisky Room., these rooms offer the perfect environment for any function.
